An Official Visit to Rutlish Chapter

In November 2016, the Companions of Rutlish Chapter No 4416 were honoured by private visit from the Deputy Grand Superintendent, E.Comp. Alan Bayliss, PGSwdB.

An Official Visit to Rutlish Chapter

As the First Principal was unable to attend, as an honorary member of the Chapter I was asked to act as First Principal as they were giving a demonstration the Exaltation Ceremony. After the Chapter was opened I greeted the Deputy Grand Superintendent on behalf of the Companions of the Chapter and took the minutes.

I then asked E.Comp. Alan if he would act as candidate for the demonstration, which he was pleased to do. It was something quite special to exalt the Deputy Grand Superintendent, to pin a white jewel on his robe and to invest him with a Companion’s apron. After the demonstration E.Comp. Alan said how good it is to remind oneself what it was like to be exalted as a candidate all those years ago.

After the Chapter was closed the Companions of Rutlish Chapter and their guests sat down to a splendid festive board at the Sutton Masonic Hall.
