Surrey Provincial Grand Stewards’ Chapter

In May, the Surrey Provincial Grand Stewards’ Chapter received a talk on The Royal Arch or Seventh Degree by E.Comp. Chris Eley, Provincial Grand Orator.

The talk was about the Exaltation Ceremony as practiced in America where the Royal Arch is considered to be the seventh degree in pure ancient Freemasonry. This was given in the form of a catechism where the MEZ, E.Comp. Peter Smith, asked questions and E.Comp. Chris Eley gave the answers. This was very well received by the Companions and generated a good discussion afterwards.

Also present were E.Comp. Stephen Dingvean, Second Provincial Grand Principal, E.Comp. Mark Winchester, Provincial Grand Scribe E, E.Comp. Steve Wigmore, Assistant to the Provincial Grand Principals, and E.Comp. Steve Jones, Provincial Grand Registrar.

Afterwards the Companions of the Surrey Provincial Grand Stewards’ Chapter and their guests sat down to a splendid meal in the Elizabethan Suite at the Masonic Hall, Surbiton.

At the Festive Board the MEZ presented E.Comp. Chris Eley with a cheque towards the Surrey Mark 2022 Festival in aid of the Mark Benevolent Fund.

E.Comp. Chris, who is an Assistant Provincial Grand Master in the Provincial Grand Lodge of Mark Master Masons of Surrey, thanked the MEZ and all the Companions of the Surrey Provincial Grand Stewards’ Chapter for their kind donation, which demonstrates how the various Orders in Surrey support each other.
