ATC Visit

On Sunday the 6th October, two of The Surrey Royal Arch Provincial team, were delighted to accept an invitation by the Officer in Charge of the 350 (Carshalton & Wallington) Squadron Air Training Corps Royal Air Force Cadets to attend the Annual Formal Inspection at the Squadron HQ in Beddington. E.Comp Stephen Dingvean PGStB 2nd ProvGP and E.Comp Paul Wicking ProvGChStwd SLGCR, attended along with local dignitaries including the Mayor of Sutton, Cllr Muhammed Sadiq, and were treated to an outstanding display of precision drill by the cadets followed by a prize giving where many of the young cadets received awards for their community work and progress within the ATC. It was very inspiring to see such a display of teamwork, discipline and respect for themselves and others that has been engendered by their participation in the cadets. This Squadron has for some years been supported by Surrey Masons, particularly Beddington Lodge No. 5492, with one of their members, W.Bro Charles (Chaz) Timms MBE PPGSuptWks regularly volunteering his time and acting as a fund raising officer. The MEGS has now adopted this unit as one of the charities for the Royal Arch Province to support to help the unit to continue its excellent community work and in support of the young people. On behalf of Surrey Masons, E. Comp’s Dingvean and Wicking were delighted to accept commemorative coins presented to them by the Officer in Charge, Warrant Officer Kevin Roswell who said, “We really value the continuing support of the local Freemasons which helps to encourage the spirit of adventure and develop qualities of leadership and good citizenship in our young people.”.
